Tecnam launches P2008JC NG: CS-23 certified trainer with fuel injection.
Tecnam's new P2008JC NG brings CS-23 safety standards, Rotax 912 iSc fuel injection, and hybrid construction to the training market. Burns 58% less fuel than legacy trainers at 14L/h, bridging the gap between fragile composites and aging all-metal fleets.
Tecnam launched the P2008JC NG, an updated version of its two-seat trainer now certified to EASA CS-23 standards instead of Light Sport rules.
Hybrid construction
The aircraft uses a carbon fiber fuselage with metal wings and stabilator. Metal wings are easier to repair after ground handling damage.
Engine and fuel consumption
The 100hp Rotax 912 iSc replaces the carburettor-equipped Rotax 912S2. Fuel burn is 14 liters per hour (3.7 USG/h). The engine runs on automotive fuels and reduces fuel consumption by 30% compared to AvGas-powered trainers.
Fleet implications
Schools operating Tecnam's P-Mentor or P2006T NG can now run an all-injected fleet from ab-initio through multi-engine training, sharing the Rotax iS engine architecture across types.
Other changes
The NG adds a Garmin G3X Touch glass cockpit, redesigned center console, new window design, improved three-point seatbelts with inertial reels, and optional autopilot.
CS-23 Amendment 6 certification enhances low-speed safety characteristics relevant to training operations. The aircraft is available for order under EASA certification.
