Tecnam [launched the P2008JC NG](https://tecnam.com/tecnam-announces-the-p2008jc-ng-the-smart-evolution-of-the-renowned-high-wing-trainer/?ref=magentadebrief.com), an updated version of its two-seat trainer now certified to EASA CS-23 standards instead of Light Sport rules.

**Hybrid construction**

The aircraft uses a carbon fiber fuselage with metal wings and stabilator. Metal wings are easier to repair after ground handling damage.

**Engine and fuel consumption**

The 100hp Rotax 912 iSc replaces the carburettor-equipped Rotax 912S2\. Fuel burn is 14 liters per hour (3.7 USG/h). The engine runs on automotive fuels and reduces fuel consumption by 30% compared to AvGas-powered trainers.

**Fleet implications**

Schools operating Tecnam's P-Mentor or P2006T NG can now run an all-injected fleet from ab-initio through multi-engine training, sharing the Rotax iS engine architecture across types.

**Other changes**

The NG adds a Garmin G3X Touch glass cockpit, redesigned center console, new window design, improved three-point seatbelts with inertial reels, and optional autopilot.

CS-23 Amendment 6 certification enhances low-speed safety characteristics relevant to training operations. The aircraft is available for order under EASA certification.
